#RealTalk WFH Edition
It’s been a while since I sat down + wrote a blog post. Since March, a whole lot has changed in my life, well actually, it feels like almost everything has changed. I moved out, moved in with my boyfriend + went from commuting about 3 hours roundtrip a day to now WFH full-time at my kitchen table. Not to mention we are in the middle of a global pandemic.
I remember online shopping for my brand new apartment on Urban Outfitters, and it was the 1st time I saw a brand I love selling face masks. That is the moment I realized this is going to be our new normal. Being who I am, I of course started buying the latest “fashion accessory” in bulk. I now keep a basket at my front door filled with masks. I rotate between my ones from Old Navy that are 5 for $12 and my tie-dye masks from @ride.or.dyes.
I have found it very difficult to create a routine while WFH that I actually stick to. What has been working for me, is starting my day with some kind of workout for at least 20 minutes. It’s either Melissa Wood Health, or a run by the water. @Melissawoodhealth has completely changed my mindset about working out. I previously thought, that for a workout to be effective, it has to be long. No, no you can do any amount of time and feel a shift in your body. Her workouts are a blend of yoga and pilates with your core engaged in every single workout. She radiates positivity, and offers a 7-day free trial which is how I got started.
After my workout I jump in the shower + throw on a pair of joggers, and a cute-ish top, because well VC meetings. If you don’t have blue light glasses yet, I highly suggest getting yourself a pair. My $15 Amazon blue light glasses have majorly saved me from my mid-day headaches. At the end of my day I put my work laptop away in a draw, and pour myself a glass of white wine :)
We are all navigating this crazy time + trying to figure out what this new normal looks like for us. The very least we can do is not be so hard on ourselves AND be kind to others because every one of us is experiencing this time in a unique way.
Sending each + every one of you positivity, thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the internet!
