It’s hard to believe more than half the summer is already gone! That means enjoy as many beach days as possible soaking up the salty air!! I love discovering small businesses with talented artists and Instagram makes that possible. I connected with Vitamin Sea and found out the designer behind the brand is an artist from Florida who donates 10% of her profits to environmental charities. The weekend we started chatting she was attending a Sea Turtle Festival, with donations going to the turtles rehab and study center. Q: What has been the best moment to date for your brand?
A: I would have to say being published in Lucid Magazine. Seeing my clothing in print was crazy!
Q: What is your favorite graphic you have designed + why?
A: My favorite at the moment is my shell watercolor! I started sketching the shells last summer and wanted to create a whole painting of my favorites!
Q: Who inspires you?
A: Steve Irwin. I grew up watching his show religiously and pretending to be him outside in my backyard. I loved his enthusiasm for wildlife no matter how big or dangerous they were.
Q: When + how did you get started?
A: Back when I was 23, I remember wanting to have a side income and art was my passion. I just combined the two and I’m so happy it hasn’t bored me since!
Q: Explain about the charity portion of your brand…
A: Wildlife and our environment are very close to my heart. I add and change as many charities as I can to my donations and donate at least 10% of each months profits to those foundations.
Q: Favorite small businesses that you support?
A: One Ocean Ohana is my favorite! She makes reusable straw bags and straws which I love to take everywhere with me! Also Natural Oats Soap! They make the best all natural soaps and skincare! I love their lip scrub!
